What Does “DISC” Mean?

The extensive research on DISC Profile highlights four basic behavioral preferences and describes how these shape what we contribute to and need from our relationships. The four DISC personality styles are…

  • D – Dominant, determined, decisive doers
  • I – Influencing, inspiring, interactive initiators
  • S – Steady, stable, submissive servants
  • C – Conscientious, cautious, competent coordinators

DISC Test consists of 24 questions that measure where a person appears on the high-average-low scale for each of these styles.

Referring to the DISC Profile as a test or quiz does not mean one passes or fails, as there are no right or wrong styles. It is a “test” in that it accurately assesses one’s style. It is a “quiz” in that it is simple and takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

Once you complete the DISC Personality Test, you are not pegged or fixed into a particular type. DISC Profile simply describes your current typical pattern, explains the most common behaviors associated with that pattern, increases understanding of those with different orientations, and provides a basis for adjustments and changes that may improve relationships.
