This is an excellent resource that originated from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod’s “Peace in the Parish Project.” Qualben discusses the role of purpose systems, biblical theology (especially regarding forgiveness and reconciliation), and the Matthew 18 pathway (5 steps). The second half of the book discusses how to detect and overcome obstacles to church vitality such as deflected distress, shoot-out meetings, bombsight biblicism, theological thugs, stuck family systems, false teachings, hyper-dependency, codependency, and clergy immorality. Chapter 15, “Usages,” gives a very helpful outline of a congregational reconciliation service.
