LifeandLeadership.com Summary
This makes a unique contribution to literature on ministry transitions, speaking strictly to situations where ministers may migrate out of ministry into another career field.
From the Publisher
Many professional ministers struggle at some point with the desire to pursue another career. Jim Hightower and Craig Gilliam have written this book for those at such a crossroads. Together they pose questions for clergy to consider in exploring their future, offer practical suggestions gathered from other ministers who have traveled this path, and share insights from their own experiences of career change.
The authors emphasize that considering the possibility of leaving professional ministry is not to be condemned or viewed as a sign of failure but accepted as part of the spiritual journey. And they note that a new career apart from the institutional church does not mean one is leaving the ministry but rather changing the mode of expressing that ministry. Foreword by Richard N. Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute?
