This is the second book of the One-Minute Manager series (see original volume). The story illustrates how the three secrets of the one-minute manager – goal-setting, praises, and reprimands – play out in actual work situations. It addresses the chief difficulty in using the secrets – turning the three secrets into skills. It suggests that practicing the right combination of these principles requires paying the P.R.I.C.E.:
- Pinpoint where performance should be improved.
- Record the current performance.
- Involve the person involved in setting goals and how reviews and coaching will occur.
- Coach people to improve results.
- Evaluate the performance to reinforce the good and replace the not so good.
